M-Cubed Construction is a medium sized family owned business based in Bloemfontein, serving the Freestate and Northern Cape. We are specialists in the construction of loft rooms/ roof rooms on existing brick and mortar dwellings. We custom construct each loft for modern living especially when the customer needs additional living space without the hassle of the traditional building approach. Instead of using brick and mortar, we use timber or light steel framing, which is cladded with cement fiberboards.The fibreboards are plastered and painted to match the existing home.
Using timber or light steel framing eliminates the need to reinforce existing foundations, thereby reducing construction time and costs.
Our staff is fully trained and work strictly according to SABS 10082 standards for timber-framed houses.
In addition to building lofts and timber or steel framed houses, we also construct timber decks and solid wooden floors.
M-Cubed Construction was established in 2007 and is solely owned by Martin Barnard.
Conceptualization, design and quotation: We pay special attention to understanding your style and needs before making recommendations. All our quotes provide sufficient information in order for you to make an informed decision - we do not charge for quotations.
Plans drafting and submission: After acceptance of our quote, your plans are professionally drawn up and submitted for local authority approval. All plans are thoroughly checked by a certified structural engineer.
All plans submitted by our drafts person are approved by local authorities – giving you peace of mind.
Project Plan: A detailed project plan is completed with every project. This ensures that we manage operations on your site effectively and completion takes place on time.
Electrical: We make use of qualified electricians, always ensuring that your loft complies with all legislative and insurance requirements.
Lighting: We have partnered with a well known Bloemfontein based lighting company to provide FREE lighting advice – this will ensure that not only will the wiring be done correctly but also that you will also be advised on the most cost effective use of lighting, resulting in a reduction of your electricity bill.
Plumbing: We make use of a fully qualified plumber who ensures that all pipe work and sewerage complies with local authority requirements.
On site supervision: Each work team consists of a team leader and assistant. Martin Barnard checks all sites every morning and completes some of the more detailed work himself. On site logistics and supervision is handled by the operations manager.
Security: All our workers are screened before being employed. Under no circumstances are casuals employed “off the street.”
Built in cupboards: We construct built-in cupboards according to customer specifications.
Colour co-ordination: We have collaborated with a well-respected international paint manufacturer who will give you free advice on paint textures and colours suitable for your loft.
Flooring: We install laminated flooring, tiles or solid wood floors (see our gallery for local cedar wood project) according to your requirements. (Carpeting service unavailable).
Work pride: At M-Cubed Construction we pride ourselves in our appearance and neatness – all the workers are kitted out with overalls bearing the
M-Cubed logos and safety boots.
